Amid E. coli Outbreak, Congress Urges FDA to Mandate Raw Cheese Recall | Food Safety Magazine
The congressional Food Safety Caucus has released a joint statement regarding an ongoing Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli O157:H7 outbreak in which the likely vehicle of illness is raw (unpasteurized) cheese produced by Raw Farm LLC. Despite the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) recommendation, the company has refused to issue a voluntary product recall.

At its March meeting, our Enforcement Forum gave a steer on the preparation of upcoming enforcement project on the interaction between REACH and occupational safety and health requirements. It also gave a steer to the pilot project focusing on the export and import of substances and mixtures under the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Regulation.
