Chemical Industry Compliance

New Substances Notifications

Chemical industry compliance is critical when introducing new substances into Canadian and US commerce. Most industries must notify regulatory authorities through a complex notification process. For both Canada and the US (PMN), we prepare and submit these notifications. Our services include pre-notification consultations to negotiate waivers and guiding submissions by identifying new assessment methodologies (NAMs), alternative test methods, and the possible use of surrogates to meet regulatory requirements.

Preparation of compliant safety data sheets and labels

To ensure you meet Canada’s Hazardous Products Regulations, we provide a number of services including overseeing the preparation and submission of applications for confidential business information protection under the Hazardous Materials Information Review Act (HMIRA), compliant SDSs and labels to US Hazard Communication Standard, 2024

Sections 46 and 71 Mandatory surveys

From time to time, the Government of Canada conducts surveys to better understand how Canadians are exposed to chemicals either through the environment or more directly through contact or ingestion. We provide support for any activities under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA 1999)

Toxicological Assessments, Chemicals and Containers

We help with toxicological assessments and compliance programs under Canada’s Consumer Chemicals and Containers Regulations, including the preparation of compliant labels.

Registration of Pest Control Products in Canada and Petitions for the USA

We help prepare submissions for the registration of pest control products in accordance with Canada’s Pest Control Products Act as well as support for petitions for approval by the US EPA for pesticide registrations.
