Canada now has a new system that ALL importers must register with – the CARM portal. This new system allows importers to manage as much or as little of their customs declarations and tariff payments as they wish. While many businesses opt to have their customs brokers continue to manage all these activities on their behalf, all importers must set up a CARM account and approve their brokers through this portal.
