CARM registration is now mandatory for all importers in Canada. The new CARM portal allows importers to manage as much or as little of their customs declarations and tariff payments as they choose. While many businesses continue to rely on customs brokers to handle these tasks, all importers must set up a CARM account and authorize their brokers through the portal.
