All cosmetics sold in Canada must be notified to Health Canada at least ten days prior to them being sold. Notifications only need to be done once, unless the product changes in some way. Health Canada does not charge a fee for this notification service.
However, to notify a product, the importer, Canadian manufacturer, or vendor must know the full formulation for the product, and understand the international naming system for cosmetic ingredients.
